Irony and double negatives

I have enacted a new policy; when I see something at a thrift store (or wherever really) and it's funny for ironic reasons, I do NOT need to buy it. This is, obviously, an ironically funny mug. I think it says Sexy Grandpa.

Touring the local galleries I found this powerful representation of a tiger...grr.

I will refrain from commenting on this one for fear of saying something I may regret.

I was going to buy this small, fiery guitar when I 1. remembered my before mentioned mantra, and 2. realized I don't need to own another musical instrument that I don't know how to play.

There is something I find so comforting about old bathtubs lined up outside.

I walked around Portland, looking for thrift stores and trying to avoid methadone clinics. I was moderately successful.

We saw a rock bands who's name I can't remember. They were kind of bad in a good way. Maybe you could describe then as hardcore-indie-pop-crap-rock...maybe. I thought they were pretty entertaining. My hosts were less enthused about the performance.

Need for speed

I went fishing at the park down the street. Although the number of hobos and meth addicts is considerably higher than at my previous "exotic" locals, the travel time has been diminished considerably. Since I haven't been able to catch anything anyway, I might as well go fishing somewhere in walking distance.

My first cast got caught on a rock, through some bushes and over a tree.

I rolled up my pants and waded out to un-stick my lure. After all of the effort to get it unstuck, I lost the lure when it got stuck on a different rock a few minutes later.

My feet hurt from walking on sharp rocks and then as I was walking home, they were doubly injured by...

I went to Dan & Angela's for a yard sale/barbecue. For some reason all of the neighborhood kids had decided that this was "the spot". Shows how much I know.

Lupita and Justin picked me up to go to the races. I heard one of the employees mentioning that it wasn't very busy tonight because there were"cage fights" going on somewhere else in town.

The best part was when these trucks would race around through the mud. This is a picture of one of said trucks flipping over.
