Corn whiskey & cocaine
Me and Kelly went to Taste Buds (formerly known as the White Rabbit) for dinner. I ate a sandwich, I think Kelly had coffee. While I had technically come a longer distance to get to New York, and more specifically the Bard MFA thesis show, Kelly came from another country to get here. I think I still win.
I took Metro North back to New York city from Poughkeepsie (really this was just a test to see if I could spell it right in the first try, the answer is; yes). The trip was uneventful.
I found a slightly melted and disfigured Kinder Surprise in my bag. The toy was some sort of top thing.
It had been rainy and cold upstate. This was not the case when I got back to Grand Central. The pipe bursting at Grand Central had been about a week prior to this. I had to promise my mom that I wouldn't got to Grand Central. Sorry Mom, I didn't have a choice in the matter.
I met Stefan and Emily at Cielo in the meat packing district.
I thought that they probably wouldn't let me in because I hadn't shaved since getting to New York and because I was dressed as if I had just come back from a trip to the woods.
The woman taking money may have been making fun of me slightly, but she did not refuse my money.
I don't remember who the dj was, but they were pretty rockin, if one can describe dance music as rockin, whatever. It was good to shake a tail feather to electronic music in a setting not readily available in Roseburg, Oregon. This visit to New York has really made me feel like a townie.
We stopped at some new diner place. I had pie and Stefan had soup. It's possible they had some sort of bizarre jukebox that was set to play the worst songs of all time.
We did not actually take the subway home. Stefan lives across the street from a crack house, in what may some day may almost become an up and coming neighborhood.
