In case you were wondering; David LaChapelle is now my friend on mySpace.
This was a Jim Isermann installation of wallpaper at Deitch. I think it would make pretty nice wall paper for the long corridor leading to my rec room. I think it would look even better with animal heads mounted on it, maybe a buffalo or a lion.
I think this was part of a show at Apex Art, in which many pieces were being auctioned off. I got a bumper sticker from Apex Art even though I have no real allegiances to the place.
I think this was from a show of pirate/quasi-pirate art, called Til I Die, at Spencer Brownstone Gallery.
China Town is still packed to the gills with tourists, the only difference is, now I'm one of them. I tried to walk around looking confused and then I bought a Roolex watch.
This was the tastiest red velvet cupcake ever.
For a long time I think me and Ei didn't really understand one another. I think this trip has been a real turning point. Hooray for us.
I went to MoMA for the Paper Rad/Correy Arcangel show or by it's alternate title The Hipster Event of the Century.
Corey Arcangel did " The Bruce Springsteen Born to Run Glockenspiel Addendum" it was pretty amusing, even if it was impossible to hear anything in the performance space/entryway of the MoMA.
I don't think the MoMA security guards knew exactly what to do, this may have been the only time there had ever been crowd surfing in the MoMA. I saw one guy smoking, and the bike-fashion-hipster-hippie version of the hippie dance. This version is very similar to the original hippie dance, but it involves even more careless abandon and more bumping into the people around you, plus costumes.
Paper Rad video's were installed and played throughout the space (with and without the musical accompaniment). I'm not sure, but I don't think this picture is of a Paper Rad video.
Extreme Animals played, I don't remember exactly what they sounded like and it was difficult to hear anything at MoMA, and their mySpace page isn't working (maybe?).
Slow Jams Band did a set involving costumes and choreography. Again it was difficult to hear. I like the song Pssy's Day Off on their mySpace page it's vaguely offensive and definitely inappropriate to play at work.
I met up with Stefan and we met up with some of his co-workers. We headed out to go to the after party.
We went to Gillian's work and drank wine.
Stefan got a call from Corey saying that they would not be attending their own after party.
