There can be only one
Maggie, Ben, Lindsey,Lee Ann, and I went down to Winston, Oregon, for the Highlander Games.
Normally, Winston's mascot is the cheetah, however, for one weekend a year the whole city of Winston worships this cut out of a man lifting a log instead.
I think this one actually IS The Highlander.
Apparently the people at the gate (who subsequently took $8 from each of us) forgot to mention that the fair was mostly over and that the Highland Games had ended several hours ago.
Several drunken men in kilts, decide that even though the games were closed they would still throw the log around.
Surprisingly, this is not the most exciting sport to watch.
This was the Grand Prize trophy.
A list of some of the games we had missed.
I believe this band, as well as all bands performing at the Highlander Festival, had "Ye Olde" in their names.
This man had a sheet of linoleum for jigging on.
There were two bands playing at the Highlander Festival. This is one of them.
This may be the other one.
I think this woman was confused and thought it was ren-fair.
Unfortunately, the Highlander festival was not at all like the movie The Highlander.
They were serving haggis though.
The festival did provide a jolly bagpipe player though (bagpipe player is to the left of the frame).
This man with a 4-wheeler was very drunk.
This blurry figure was wearing a pelt and had a large knife.
The man to the right kept going around shouting "There can be only one!"
I don't know if there are laws to prevent drunk 4-wheelin'.
